சாந்தோம் தோமையார் தேவாலயத்தில் ஒரு சிறு அருங்காட்சியகம் உண்டு. இதில் உள்ள இரண்டு முக்கிய கல்வெட்டுகள், சோழர் காலத்தியவை. இன்னும் பல போர்த்துகீசிய கல்வெட்டுகளும் உண்டு. இன்று வரை தேவாலயம் என்றுமே அவற்றை மறைத்தது இல்லை. 1893ஆம் ஆண்டு தேவாலயம் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட போது தோண்டப்பட்ட குழிகளில் இருந்து கிடைத்த மண் பாண்டங்கள், எலும்புத் துண்டுகள், நாணயங்கள் போன்றவை இங்கே பாதுகாக்கப்படுகின்றன. சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் சென்னை பல்கலைக்கழக மாணவர்கள் இந்தப் பகுதியில் செய்த அகழாய்வில் டெரா சிகிலாடா, அரட்டைன் வகை பானை ஓடுகள் இங்கே கிடைத்ததை உறுதி செய்துள்ளன. அவை காலக் கணிப்பு செய்யப்பட்டனவா என்பது குறித்து இதுவரை தகவல் எதுவும் இல்லை. சங்க காலம் முதலே இந்த இடம் உயிர்ப்புடன் இருந்து வருகிறது.

மக்கள் யார் வேண்டுமானாலும் அருங்காட்சியகம் திறந்திருக்கும் சமயம் இவற்றை சென்று பார்வையிடலாம். திடீர் என சில ஆண்டுகளாக கொடிமரம் இருப்பதால் அது இந்து ஆலயம், உள்ளே உள்ள பொருள்கள் இந்துக்களின் பொருள்கள் என்று வாதிட்டு வருகின்றன சில்லறை இந்து அமைப்புகள். மீண்டும் சொல்கிறேன். சோழனும், சங்க கால பானை செய்த குயவனும் எம் தமிழன். உங்களைப் போன்ற வந்தேறிய முக்கால் அரை வேக்காடு இந்துத்துவ வெறியர்கள் அல்ல. தமிழ் கிறிஸ்துவர்கள் லண்டனில் இருந்து இறக்குமதி ஆனவர்கள் அல்ல. மண்ணின் மைந்தர்கள். பூர்வகுடிகள். வந்தேறிய ஆரியர்கள் என்ன சார் எங்கள் தமிழ் பண்பாடு மீது கைவைப்பது? கடும் கண்டனங்கள்.

He has been repeatedly writing and propagating that Shiva temple was at the site of Santhome church which was pulled down by Portuguese. No proof whatsoever. Mere hate speech and venomous writing.

Check this hierarchy and think where we are placed at now.
Based on my personal experiences I'm guessing where I'm placed at right now.

Biased attitudes, yes. Being someone from the minority community I have faced it. Acts of bias - name calling, slurs, biased jokes - yes happens to me and my minority brothers and sisters in most WhatsApp school/college groups. Discrimination - segregation, housing discrimination - "I'm renting out the house to you, even though you're Christians". Thank you for that. Bias motivated violence - online threats, WhatsApp threats - yes, aplenty. Genocide - happening in Delhi. Can come to our doorstep anytime.

So think over. Where do you stand in protecting your own brothers and sisters?
